DayMark: White-washed conical brick tower with black lantern.

History: Constructed: 1825, 1846. First Lighted: December 17, 1825 (first tower); October 24, 1846 (present tower). On National Register Listing.

Lens: Original: 17-fixed patent lamps with 21-inch reflectors; Winslow Lewis 1825. Present: 300-mm latern (1996). Focal Plane: 100 feet.

Construction: Builders: Noah Humphries (first tower); Leonard Hammand (present tower). Brick conical tower constructed of brick, granite and iron.

Other Buildings: Keeper's dwelling with detached kitchen and privy.

Hours Open: The Lighthouse tower and compound are open free Thursday through Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Guided tours take place at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and include a visit to the Light Keepers House. Tours are free and begin promptly under the awning at the outside gate near the picnic area.

Visitor Info: Beautifully restored in 1996. Museum in Keeper's dwelling and video in detached kitchen.
